Fresh, authentic Chinese. Moo Shu was some of the best I've had in a while. Will definitely go back.

The wait was over an hour, even though we had ordered on line. They still were taking walk in orders, when clearly it was overwhelming. But it was Christmas Day and the food was good. Favorite was Gen Tso chicken, steamed dumplings, bbq strips, and house special lo mean. Fidnt care for Hunan chicken, beef n broccoli, or egg rolls. I'd like to try again when it's not a holiday.

I had the pleasure of dining at Asian Gourmet last evening. In town for a conference, I was craving some good authentic Chinese food and this was the perfect place. Not a large place but I decided to dine in and witnessed a great vibe and dozens of people getting take out. My entree was hot , fresh and delicious. The staff was welcoming, nice and had great service. The portions were generous and I had enough to take back to the hotel for the following day. They kept checking on me to make sure that everything was fine. I would recommend Asian Gourmet in a heartbeat.

Chicken wings had lots of flavor and were crispy, rice was decent. Bean curd in brown sauce had no flavor and was too soft, deep fried tastes much better. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. Egg roll was good but a bit too greasy. Not bad for take out. A million times better than Panda Express. Reasonable prices. Overall, other than the mushy tofu, highly recommend.

My favorite chinese takeout place in Lansing. They never miss- they're quick with pickup or delivery and everything we've had has been great (which during the lockdown, was admittedly a lot) - also they're super sweet. We've had some confusion with an order once and they gave us a ton of fortune cookies as an apology (which was completely not needed, but so sweet!)

I do not each much Chinese because I try to limit my sodium intake. But over the weekend, I tried Asian Gourmet, and it was good Chinese food. I gave this place 4/5 stars because if a place claims to be gourmet, there had better be something unique about the food. Since I do not eat Chinese food much at all, I walked in on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 and ordered a carryout dish of vegetable lo mein. It took about 8-10 minutes before it was ready. Once I made it back home, I ate the lo mein. The lo mein was good because everything was balanced: vegetables seemed fresh because they had that crunch; noodles were not dry or overcooked; and the sauce was savory with a slight sweetness. But as stated earlier, there was nothing unique to say this was gourmet. Although this was my first and probably sole visit here, I do recommend this place if you're a regular for Chinese take out.

Asian Gourmet is the seriously underrated underdog! Although it's not the most "authentic" Chinese foods, I think they serve the Lansing area well with its Americanized Chinese cuisine. I have had delivery twice and the quoted time was accurate, even in snowy weather! It's best to call directly to the restaurant to place the order versus ordering the money-grubbing GrubHub DoorDash or Eat24. Plus you'll avoid the corporate upcharges and can tip the staff directly! Ordered the lunch specials: Mongolian beef, shrimp in lobster sauce, General Tso's chicken, crab rangoon, and chicken wings. Highly recommend the crab rangoons! I thought the chicken wings needed more time to cook, so I threw it in the toaster oven for another 5-10 minutes and it was good to go. Regular entrees such as beef, shrimp, chicken gets the job done, but it was not impressively crazy flavorful-- umami for sure. I am not a fan of their yellow-colored fried rice, it's typically on the dry side. Overall for a cheap meal under $7, it's super cheap and filling. It is basically two meals for me. Will be back for more delivery on a cold day!
